This tool doesn't have all the fancy features of top-of-the-line tools, such as crimpers and a wider bolt-cutting range, but it weighs just 5 ounces, compared to 8 ounces for my more capable name-brand tool. If you do it the other way it leaves a rough edge on the thread, which might not screw into the mating nut. The only improvement I would add is to indicate that the screws to be cut should be threaded into the side with the bolt sizes printed (as shown in photograph). A wide variety of professional wire strippers options are available to you, such as diy, industrial. About 53 of these are plier, 7 are cable manufacturing equipment, and 6 are other hand tools. Those bolt-cutters are normally only found on much higher-priced strippers. About products and suppliers: offers 922 professional wire strippers products. As it turns out, the 8-32 is also the size used on most cabinet hardware (pulls and knobs) so you can trim those screws to fit thin drawer boxes or doors. As an added, and EXTREMELY useful feature, it cuts the two most common size screws used in residential electrical work – the 6-32 and 8-32 screws used to install outlets and switches into boxes and secure outlet/switch plates. It cuts almost any common size copper electrical wire, at least up through 8 gauge, and strips 10-20 gauge solid and 12-22 stranded. Notwithstanding that error, it's extremely comfortable to use, particularly for right-handed users, and the lock button is perfectly placed for activation by the right thumb (see photo). It does not – the smallest it's made for is 22 gauge stranded wire (as it states elsewhere on the package and on the tool). In two places (front and rear) it indicates it strips wire as small as 24 gauge. It's made in Taiwan for those who need to know, but there is an ERROR on the packaging. The Capri Tools Professional Wire Stripper/Cutter (Model 20013) is a virtual twin to the name-brand model usually aimed at professional electricians – but for half the price.
